Purpose of Experiment: The purpose of this experiment was to see how photosynthesis works. By doing this experiment we could see in a visual way how photosynthesis works, with this getting a deeper knowledge about photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a chemical process that plants use to create energy, for this process they use sunlight that helps turn carbon dioxide and water into sugars that plant cells can use as energy. Results In this experiment we investigated how leaves transform carbon into oxygen. We tested this by using baking soda as the carbon source for the photosynthesis and then putting in a bowl, we knew that the experiment was successful and that the photosynthesis happened when the leaves rise. This happened because the photosynthesis releases oxygen in the interior of the leaf which changes its ability to float causing the disks to rise. In the experiment we put Aspen leaves in water with carbon dioxide and then left them rest under the withe light of a lamp. Every two minutes we have to shake them a little bit and then put them back under the light. In my team the leaves start floating into the surface after 40 minutes, here are the results comparing my team results with others .
